Your in for a Treat Stuart! We had a Great week in the area based at Oban with some of Ribnet's Finest Last year(See thread) and I must say the whole area and Cruiseing grounds blew me away!
Iona, Staffa ect are well within your RIB's range...with the usual weather proviso's.
The famous Corryvreckan Whirlpools and The Grey Dogs should be on your list too!
We're heading up again in May and I can't wait!...Great Place! Wonderful Cruising,Amazing Wildlife,Tremendous Food and Lovely People...Pretty Potent mix!Just need half decent weather and you'll be hooked...Like ME!
I'm sure some others more qualified than I will be along to give some more local tips, but you've made a Great Choice!

Ach away wi yea your embarrassing us now But matthew theres always a welcome in the Glens and Lochs for you and even Tony One thing sure you will get a job with the Scottish tourist board now

Back to thread Stuart although I cruise just south of Mull on the Sound of Jura mainly i can but second what Matthew said you have picked a great place for a ribbing holiday. Contact fellow ribnetters such as Bruce B and Ruari for local diving spots or even the guys at Puffin Divers who are just south of Oban.
Hope it helps and enjoy the West

Hi Stuart
As others have said you will have a cracking time up there. We have been taking a rib up there every year for since i was a toddler and its a great spot. If you are based in Fionnphort with your size of rib there are no moorings or pontoons you can moor on - best bet is probably to take an anchor with you and put down your own mooring either in Fionnphort's bay or in the Bull Hole, which is a very sheltered anchorage just to the north of the village. Easy row out in a dinghy. From there i would say your must do trips would be staffa and lunga, Ulva and Geomatra, round iona and exploring the stunning beaches on the ross of mull and erraid. By all means drop me a PM and i will talk you through where the best beaches etc are.

Cheers
Alasdair

Ok thanks
Dunstaffnage picked a hard boat up from there on scuba diving trips, MV Harry Slatter, with the late Dave Ogden as skipper good times.
As anyone experience of scuba diving Finngals cave or around that area
Stuart

Stuart there are many divers on here that have five around that area and I'm sure they'll be on to advise you. But just in case they don't may I suggest you contact Bruce B on here as I know he dives the area failing that give Puffin Divers Gallenach just south of Oban a call.
Hope this helps.
