Guys

This is sounding very good!

Son has at least 3 adult lifejackets to play with, so no problems there!

I hope the weather is OK!

Can you put a list together of who's coming by this w/e as I 'll need to talk to the petrol/diesel man.

Jon

Gary - haven't even had time to look at a chart for it yet-bit stretched at the moment! Suggest we draw a line for each group and sort of see if they cross at a reasonable point-if not we will both need to hang a bit of a left and right to somewhere reasonable. What time are the conwy boats leaving?-thats going to make a difference of course. Cruising speeds are ok I would think depending on weather and how many dozen bags the boss decides are the absolute minimum for two days!!!!!! We may also be carrying Simon and Nikki who seem to assume they are going anyway.
Is that your rib near the big sailing Cat on the right as you come into the dock. We were on board Lady Devoy the carver 36 over the other side of the dock tonite. Very nice - I could be converted to life aboard one of those. the owners name is Terry if you see him in there-nicest guy you could wish to meet-taking it to spain soon.

Lines won't cross!

If one group leaves from Conwy & one from Fleetwood you won't cross.

If the Conwy boys head almost due North, there's a platform in the Millom Gas Field that might be suitable? As HW is midday they'll have plenty of tide pushing them north!

Alternatively if you aim for Port St Mary you might converge with them?

Conwy recovery

Ged, from your previous comments we should be able to recover from Conwy upto 4 hrs prior to HW. If this is the case we do not need to leave Douglas AM but could leave it until mid afternoon. Do you feel confident of recovering at 4 hours before?

Hi folks

Dave, yes thats the one, their is the Cat, a 30-40 power boat then mine.

Maybe see you Sunday if your still out and its a nice night & thanks for the notice about the buoy & rocks.

As far a waypoints go, will sort somthing out. Think the Conway guys are leaving at 9.00 so depending on speed they may be their well before us. Will put a way point together with a route tonight and post but suggest we keep thing quite dynamic depending on the day etc.

Also suggest we all post the names of RIBS so we can keep a ear out for each other on route.
What speed are you guys leaving from Conway planning on so i can try and work out a meeting point. Will look at the oil field location tonight.

Mine is Tigger II, think Daves in Black Magic

Ian yes the new RIB handles great, very very different from the 4.8, took a while to get used to it but love it now. Best description is like moving from a gocart to a Merc. One fast furious and you know every bump and turn the other very laid back, smoother and more civilised .

As far as Conway goes I am sure we left HW-3 hours on Sunday and had no problems, only went down to about 10 foot under us. But suggest you give the marina a call.

Regards Gary

Hi folks

Well have been playing round with the plotting software and as the Conway guys are setting off an hour sooner then the Fleetwood boys their is no good point to meet up unless one or both of us deviate and add some distance to the routes.

The gas field that was given as a possible, which one their are quite a few.

Anyway whats peoples thoughts do you want to add a dog leg and meet up or just meet when we get to their.

If we do plan to meet mid way, given people doing similar speeds and given the time difference the Million Gas platform/ship looks good at 54'01N, 3'51"W. That is 55 miles from Conway & 37 miles from Fleetwood. Which gives 18 miles longer for the Conway guys, abour right for the extra hour you have.

If we do this is makes the trip from Conway approx 80 miles as opposed to 68 direct. Makes little differnece to the Fleetwood guys as almost on our direct route.

Let us know what people think but this looks the best place given the time differences, but does make the Conway trip about 12 miles longer. Their are many more options but this fits on best with the 1 hour time difference without adding a lot to either group.

Regards Gary

Well, only a week left!
Let's hope the weather ain't too bad. Looking forward to getting out in a RIB again (over a year since my last time out, dive club's RIB hasn't been out at all over the last year). With a bit of luck someone daft..kind enough will let me have a quick drive

And surely Keith "SIB meister" Hart wouldn't mind sitting on the tubes? Surely he'd feel more at home there, and RIB tubes would be luxury compared to his usual seat!
