That is interesting.

Surely there right of way up the river and isn't anything below the high water mark common??

I think they would be on a sticky wicket insisting we couldn't go through. After all, we are going for a BBQ??

Pity the peace will be shattered by Mr Jagger

I dont know where you heard that from. Boat users cannot be stopped from using the river, but obviously the local byelaws are in place to control traffic.

I will be up their Saturday night on the lifeboat as the organisers require cover for the water. I may be on a smaller boat however as our larger boat is required in cowes for tasking by Coastguard.

I saw a police launch mooching arond the river this afternoon - looked like one of the ones from Portsmouth harbour. Are they anticipating trouble by the river or something?

just got back from the fest. Lots of yachty boats up the river by the main stage so I guess shouldn't be any problem.

Done a bit of bouncing to Groove Armada so off to bed now

We are going for a swim in Osbourne bay at noon and then hoping to catch the tide up to Newport from 2pm onwards, see everyone there. Viv is doing BBQ on the rib, I will be on stand by with the fire bucket

Just got back from there. We slept out last night and came in about midday.

We managed to see the whole lot Saturday night and still get out albeit by paddle for half a mile.
Muse were incredible. They reminded me of Queen with the way everything was delivered-even doing a Shadows cover (Apache) in their set. It was well worth the paddle.

The only thing that DID mar the day was a complete cretin in a small yacht who shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near anything sharper than a crayon causing some damage to my new boat which his insurance is going to have to sort and a total prick in a tatty grey pac22 who tried to steam through at 10 knots. I think he hit more than one boat.
Need spares, consoles, consumables, hire, training or even a new boat?

Good report Nos. Sorry to hear about the problems. Of course, I am very jealous as I attended the very first one. Would have loved to have been there.
Running around like a head with it's chicken cut off.
