can you recommend a good fish and chip shop close to a beach we Essex boys could stop at, go ashore and eat chips on the beach.

TD5 will be providing the mid morning snacks and Pimms for us on his sun deck and we've promised him a fish and chip lunch this trip out.

hehe, i like it!

Let me think, chippies. There is one in Yarmouth which used to be called (not sure if it still is) the lobster pot cafe. You will have a little bit of trouble just going in to the habour to get fish and chips though! some of the pubs might do f&c take aways (i recommend the King's head). Alternatively the only other thing I can think of is to go into to Colwell bay and swim into the shore and there is a cafe by the slip. Not sure what food they have though. Also, there are various attractions at alum bay on top of the cliffs...there must be a cafe somewhere there, again not sure about whether they would do fish and chips.

You guys could come in Yarmouth and have a pub lunch?? The habour might be slightly overwelmed with so many ribs but it should be too much of a problem, there is plenty of space. Again I recommend the King's head! A short stay in the habour would not be much at all for the small ribs. I could go and ask at the habour if they'll be ok with so many ribs, I still have a few contacts there .

Hopefully off to the needles to take some shots of scratchells bay in a bit for Pete.

hope thats a help Mr Rat

Tim

not eating any think you catch with that spear gun chips or no chips

just a quick mental note

rear locker remove flares and VHF fit in more food
consul locker remove pump repair kit and first aid kit fit in more food
under seat locker remove spare fuel tank add some more food
cool box full of food no action is required
front locker remove all ropes spare fuel tank and anchor thing get some more food in
re move child crew as weight can be added as food
on driving rib from garage the hull breaks in two due to weight of food
sit in garage and eat all the food shame to waist it

There is certainly a Chip - Oil in Cowes (near the Painter's arms)

However...if you set off from Calshot/Lee - on - Solent at 1000 you will be at the Chippy by oooh 1044 (ish) they won't even have warmed the lard up by then.

Tim I would love a pub lunch in Yarmouth. Get the parking sorted and I'm up for it.
