Callsigns

Anybody got any callsigns they want to make known.

Andy Beach is Avon RIB
Nick Reis is Sea Spray or Biggles

We shall all be on channel 72 with a listening watch on 16. That should save us all calling up on 16 to find each other.

Anymore ?

By the way although the weather is forecast for the next few days its looking good for Sunday afternoon. Some bad weather due Saturday night/Sunday morning then it should clear. Fingers crossed....

The slipway this evening at LW Springs. Bit smelly but no signs of whales

I'm not suprised, "whales" is to the West. That's the IOW!

Funny you should say that, but being polically correct I didn't want to upset those sensitive folk from the land of leeks and dragons.

Bad Weather

On the news the whole country has been hit by bad weather, Thunder storms, rain etc. Yet here in Basingstoke nothing.

Is it like that in the Solent anybody know ?

Also my best guess for wave height on Sunday is about 3 foot. More than I wanted to see, but just doable in my tub. Hoping for better though.

At least we got all day to it in !!!!!!

Regards Nick R.

PS. See you all Sunday morning...

Nick, those photos were taken at 7pm this evening, even the jet skiers were getting bored with no waves. Best to make the decision on Sunday unless its really obvious in that case plan B - lunch at the Folly ?

For me this is a one off.

Next year I intend to have a bigger RIB and therefore it won't be so much of a problem with the chop.

I guess with the weather as bad as its been this journey might take me longer than hoped but at least its do-able.

On a perfect day we could have looked at a 3 HOUR trip. Now I guess a 7 hour trip.

Still done by 5 O'clock though. Might be backbreaking and quite boring but should be safe.

You never know though it could be very smooth.

Regards Nick R

Pete

I'm mad enough to go all the way around even if its rough.

You big boats will have to just wait for us little ones going slow.

That is the main reason why I wanted to keep this a small boat trip.

We struggle in the chop. We can do it but it takes time and personally I don't want to feel as though I am holding someone up un-necessarily (Is it spelt like that ?)

I think now that we might be looking at an early evening finish just because of that breeze that just won't seem to go.

Regards NIck R.
