There are loads of sheltered bays for anchorage and the island is only 1 mile accross so wherever the campsite is its not going to be far from the boats.

It may not be far to the campsite, but its a long vertical climb to he top!!!

The gap between the main island of Sark and the smaller island top left of the photo was part of the course in May for the offshore race - went through there at about 70mph - it looked a bit narrower at that speed - also the tide going through there produces some interesting currents - it felt like the boat was moving around underneath you as you went through there, very un-nerving the first time!

Thanks Cookee - Refulling may be a requirement for some - allthough there is talk now of doing it in a straight line rather than the dog leg.
by the way - long time no see...
seems like ages since you came down to our south west ribsters meet up at the mexican - and that fantastic day out on banana shark.
im looking foreward to RIBEX this year - i assume you'l be there again

Hi.. is this cruise still a goer? Still July? We were interested in joining the Alderney cruise in June but it appears problematic as the boat will be in Salcombe and the bulk of members are setting off from the Solent. However, we can't go in July; can anyone do anything in June? How about a trip to the Isles of Scilly?

It certainly does at 70mph - I could feel the boat "squirming" underneath me due to the tide, very unnerving the first time!
