Great River Race, Thames - Saturday 13 September 2008

The 2008 Great River Race will be on the 13 of September so get it pencilled in your diaries!

The start and finish may be further upstream (More details as I get them!)

Hopefully Wandsworth Council will allow us plenty of parking for cars and trailer on Putney Embankment giving us an official launch site for safety boats and the briefing will be at Teddington Lock on the day again.

And.....we should be getting a pro photograpgher to take photos of the safety crews as we seem to have been missed out of this years pics!

Letters will be going out soon.

Might not be the best thread to post this on but I will give it a wirl !

I would like to do a Thames cruise out towards the sea. Anyone contemplating such a cruise at any time this year. The more notice the better so I can get some crew on standby.

Why not join the Tear up the Thames that happening on Boatmad next month as well, that way you dont have to wait till September.

Well after a bit of a rest today here are some of the pictures from Saturday's Great River Race.

This year we had every possible type of safety boat ranging from zapcats to 11m inboard diesel ribcrafts.

A big thanks must go to everybody who helped the event go off without a hitch.
