[QUOTE=CJL] I will have space on board for the boatless out there.

I'll have a bit of space too and will still be quicker than you!

It looks like the channel has definite edges like an engineered channel. It was expecting mud flats full or mash land.

Looking forward to it all. Laurrence can't make it with his 6m Searider as he's on hols by the way but we will still have a pretty good contingent.

Anybody else fancy trying a new patch of water???

Chris

Ore entrance.

Forgive me if I am teaching anyone to suck eggs but can I strongly recommend you get the latest chartlet for the Ore entrance from Small craft deliveries in Woodbridge. (Also available at most local chandlerys and also I think online somewhere.) The entrance to the Ore shifts every few months/after a storm and believe me its not a place to run aground with very fast flowing tides over shingle banks. There is an annual survey in April which may not have yet happened this year. (I've seen some chat on the YBW.com boards about this.) There is little/no buoyage and the chart and a degree of caution is essential IMHO.

Also beware the tide at Snape .... if you miss it you're stuck for a good whiles!

Have a pint of Adnams for me. Now I'm feeling homesick.....

EDIT: According to this website http://www.debenentrance.com/homepage.html the April survey hasnt been done yet. (But might well by the 29th.). Last chartlet is dated November. I imagine things have change a mite since then!

Deben and Ore entrances

Thanks for the info Alan, i have been kitesurfing at felixstowe all winter and the deben entrance bar has moved considerably over the last few months. There is now no 'straight line' between the existing buoyage for an easy exit, resulting in anything larger than a Laser having to pick a route out around the bar using sonar and a bit of luck - especially at low water.

I'm going out this weekend to have a look at the Deben and Ore entrances to see exactly how they have changed.

Will
