UK Outlook for Saturday 16 Jun 2012 to Monday 25 Jun 2012:

The weekend will see rather unsettled weather across the United Kingdom. Strong winds and rain will affect many areas on Saturday, followed by locally heavy showers on Sunday. The weather will remain unsettled into next week with a mixture of bright spells and showers, some of which may be heavy and thundery, and perhaps even some more persistent rain at times. There are some indications that southern and eastern parts of the UK will become generally drier and brighter towards the end of next week, although occasional spells of rain or showers remain possible. Northern and western parts will probably stay unsettled though with a greater chance of seeing periods of rain. Temperatures will probably be a little below average at first, but should recover to close to average later.

Why is it always like this? Shall we, shant we forecasts.

Right now I'd say 50:50, the blow, as I see it, is forecast to come through Thurs/Fri, but it's West to NW which is good, the swell should disperse fairly quickly all over the N. Atlantic rather than hang around in the Channel. We could get a long swell from the NW when breaking Lands End.

It's not gonna be glassy, but a bit of sun and a lively sea adds to the fun.

Let's give it another 24/48 hrs and have a vote. Incidently, how many boats are on for this trip?

Not many, I'd imagine, given the current forecast!!

Sorry guys, it's a 'no go'.

25mph ESE on Fri will create big seas for our end of the Channel, swinging NW on Sat and strengthening.

Shame, my 17yo lad and his pals were all on for it.

Cornishavon, if you'd like to try again in July, give me a shout.

We did vow on the last cloud covered, big sea, spine wrenching visit not to go again unless it was bloody SUNNY!
