Eastern Solent

Hi, on Sunday I am hopefully heading to Guernsey, coming back to Lymington on Tuesday however I am looking for some options for a plan B if the weather doesn't play ball.

I am familiar with lymington, cowes, Yarmouth and everything west of there so would be interested in exploring east for a 3 day trip in a hard cruiser with accommodation on board.

Anyone have any recommendations for 2 guys who like a good pub, some food and something interesting to see.

I was thinking beaulieu river and then ran out of ideas.

Cheers

Into Chichester Harbour is lovely, up to Bosham with the tide, walking on beach at East Head Spit/West Wittering. Various pubs possible depending on where you moor. We spent a couple of days there over the early May bank holiday in our sailing yacht and really enjoyed it.

I quite like Bembridge, a quiet place with a tidal entrance, I vaguely recall berthing seems to have become quite expensive this year. Portsmouth I guess there's plenty to do, loads of pubs/restaurants and numerous berthing options, but isn't my favourite place - a bit too built up for me!

I definitely have Beaulieu towards the top of my list as well!

As it's all North or North Easterly wind forecast for Sunday to Tuesday, you could hug the coast to Brighton. It's a nice run and you can always drop in at Portsmouth, Southsea, Chichester and/or Littlehampton on the way there and/or back.

Thanks Trev, I was thinking along the same lines. Hopefully the weather will hold for the Guersey trip but if not I think we will head to Brighton and back stopping in at beaulieu and Chichester along the way.
