We managed to get out - planned to go to Crinan, but the last stretch after the end of Luing was a bit wild, so we diverted to Craobh Haven instead for lunch at the Lord of the Isles.
The weather alternated between fine sunshine and squally sleety showers, and the F5 - F6 SW wind made the run each way across Easdale Bay pretty exciting.
By the time we got back to Easdale at about 2pm it was high tide, so we pulled out Baby Blue and started on our way home.
Got back today having shredded a tyre mid way down the M40. Fortunately we pulled over OK - but not before the disintegrating tyre had demolished the mud guard!
When I put the spare wheel on, I noticed that the hub was decidedly wobbly - so the bearings must have been damaged as well. Fortunately we had a spare hub and bearings in the spares kit!

I dont know if there is some mileage in this but is there any thoughts to move ERR to later in year?

it is very early in season and chance of weather window in April very early May is not great.

I have only been to last years but bailed due to forecast early, i didnt even attempt it this year again due to the forecast and fact it was snowing on the thursday. When i arrived last year there was half inch of ice on the deck!...i am the jinx! Took 2 weeks off work to go and stay there for a while but weather has been terrible lately.

Glad you and Pam made it safely back Trevor it was a long haul for you.looking forward to meeting up in June for Denmark trip. Regarding weather in Easdale. It is so changeable that you cannot realistically do any firm planning.Tony does a fantastic job to sort out a cruise whatever the weather. Its just a case of bringing shorts and t- shirts for the good bits and storm proofs for the wet bits

The ERR event is run with the intention of raising the profile of Easdale Island and it's facilities and extending the season a little for local businesses. I've attended five and missed one. Weather has been varied, sometimes stormy, sometimes flat calm, sometimes cold, sometimes hot, sometimes sunny, sometimes rainy - and that was only the first day of the first year! My WX experiences in Scotland in June, July, August and September have been much the same.

IMO, the problem is having to commit to any fixed time window when RIBbing better suits grabbing a suitable weather window.

Ofcourse committing to any fixed time isnt ideal in the uk......Anyways, food for thought perhaps.

Another great RR thanks to Tony, thought it worth mentioning Pete who helped put boats in all day Friday with his landy. We stayed till Saturday and caught the best of the weather cracking day out Friday. Will post some pics this week.

Cheers
