For once this year's event occurs during Neap Tides so Wilk you are safe!
I am currently in Glasgow - oh joy! so am not exactly sure of tide heights but we would expect to be able to move our Seafari RIBs (11m) carefully from pontoon to sea at any stage.
There are no issues with a load of moorings outside in Easdale Sound.
Just give the office a call when you depart Oban and call us on Ch 77 - Seafari base when you are nearing and someone will be on hand to help you.
There may be sufficient water to tie alongside the wall inside the harbour as well.
If it blows up then everything comes inside but it may be a bit messy and time consuming clearing lines in the morning.

OK weather has broken this week so that may mean sunshine and calm seas are on their way for early May. Keep the jetstream over London/Paris, suits us fine

"Remember that Deep Six is 6.1m, Jumping Jack is 6.5m, Ricochet and Portnahaven are 7.1m. I think Keamore is about 13.7m..."

As Willk hs pointed out "Keamore" is 13.7m will she fit in

Liam they'll be plenty of room outside in the Strait. Contact Tony to arrange a suitable mooring for your rib. Dont worry Easadale can cope.

Any room for a little one?

I'm still debating whether to throw the rib in at Dunstaffnage or tow to Easdale.

How many are likely to launch there? It strikes me that arriving by sea may help to reduce congestion on the beach somewhat.

Question is will the battery in my hammer drill last long enough to get all the tent pegs in?

Burgers & banter sounds like a plan to me!

OK, fess up time. I wasn't there last year. Rather unfortunate incident on the Friday. Long story....

PS, wee grovel. Anyone got a Merc 14 or 15" (x 10.25-ish dia) 13 spline "pin tabwasher locking" prop they could bring along & I could borrow for 10-15 mins?

(...I may of course find my new leisure battery solves the over revving problem nicely with it's extra weight!

FWIW I am toying with a Dunstaffnage launch sometime Friday afternoon, plan being to motor down under the Atlantic bridge then pitch the tent & see where the evening goes.

Have still to do a half decent fuel reckoner to see if my tank capacity can manage that, but it's Plan A for the moment.

(Plan B is tow to Easdale & chuck it in there)

Ralph wx dependent like everyone. Have got jetties if do fill up at Oban then again at PA or CH if needed. But launching at E would save you fuel and you would be at HQ.

Dunstaff - Easdale = 13.6 NM - call it £30 in round numbers at 0.8l/m in today's prices
Covering that distance on the trailer at around 18 to the gallon (measured on hilly territory!) = £20
now, for a tenner, would you rather be towing a boat through Oban or motoring down Kerrera Sound?
OK, I'll have an £18 lunch / recover fee to add, but that does at least allow me to drive home having had a shower & flushed my engine etc.

But all in, the extra £28 seems like cash well spent from where I'm sitting!

If you are planning on coming under the Bridge over The Atlantic you might be a bit short on depth where you enter the sound at the north end (well before you get to the bridge) as it is neap tides, depends what time you would be planning on coming through.

Hello and thank you all for registering for this year's Easdale RIB Rendezvous! After last year's brilliant turnout and weather I suppose it shouldn’t be surprise to anyone that we have now a record number of RIBs registered promising ERR 2013 to be the biggest and best event we’ve ever had! Registrations stand at over 50. We now await sunshine and calm seas

When you arrive on Friday 3rd May your first point of call should be The Seafari Ticket Office. Seafari crew will be ready and waiting to help you register and launch your boat from 2pm. For those of you who were unsure with the tick boxes to confirm that you are responsible for the seaworthiness of your boat and the safety of its occupants, this can be resolved at registration. We wish to confirm Seafari only offers an umbrella organisation. All decisions fall to the RIB's skipper. Once launched there is time to take a quick shake down cruise around a couple of the local islands or get settled into your accommodation. Friday evening we will either be at The Oyster Bar (01852 300121) or The Puffer over on Easdale Island (01852 300022), both serve food between 1800-2100. Booking is essential.

On Saturday the plan is to depart at 0930 - 1000 for our jaunt to Jura. The plan for many is to complete a circumnavigation but with the options to take up the navigational challenges of Loch Tarbert, explore the coast of Islay or to enjoy the attraction of the fine coffee shops, hotels or whisky distilleries along the way. The circumnavigation is about 100 miles so bring plenty of fuel. More information about Loch Tarbert is available on the web site.Powerboat and RIB Magazine should now be published with the appropriate article.

Saturday evening, Keren and the rest of the team at The Puffer on Easdale Island are, as always, pulling out the stops for us with a mouth watering set menu at just £12 a head

Main course: Argyll Hill Lamb Rogan Josh served with rice; Homemade Beef Stovies served with bread & butter or Homemade macaroni cheese served with garlic bread.
To follow: Homemade chocolate brownie with cream or Homemade sticky toffee pudding with custard.

Sunday's plan is to have a landing trip to Belnahua the most remote of the recognised slate quarrying islands with its historic architecture and tools with the option to navigate around some of the other local islands. Tobermory, Oban, Crinan also spring to mind..
