...and we DID have a good trip. Conditions in the North Channel were fairly fresh at times and I'm delighted to say that having shown up with the crispiest bacon butties ever, tonymac proceeded to fling someone else's boat over the foam with wild abandon. Despite his failure to break anything in the process, I'm happy to confirm his official elevation to Flying Test Monkey, One Star. I believe he has photos. I was too busy hanging on!

Many thanks to the guys and girls at Redbay Boats for organising the trip, launching us and others, feeding us and hosting us in the Boat Club!

Yep as Willk said

14 intrepid Redbay RIBs crossed the North Channel which was blowing the forecasted 6 with matching sea conditions - it was great to see so many 6.1's and 6.5's taking part

Everyone made it to Gigha in fine fettle and found that the much discussed pier was being dismantled before our every eyes - however Connor and Fintan done a great job ferrying everyone in from the moorings - and more importantly back out again

Some 70 people had a buffet in the Gigha Hotel - whilst it did not have the same atmosphere as Ardbeg - the craic was good and "tea" was served

After lunch it was back to action with a roller coaster ride back to Rathlin for more "tea" before the final run down to HQ. I later had a transit down to Carrickfergus with a setting sun and a dusk entry into Belfast Lough which was magic.

Here is a great video put together by my XO's boyfriend Ned - thanks from all the Redbay crews - I hope this keeps you going Kerny
