We had a really great time, however I would much prefer to go to the isles of Silly this year and go back to Alderney next year, next time i would prob stay in a hotel or rent a tent, I will also try to get my family there another way to include them too.

I'm very interested in visiting Alderney this summer, self employed so can do anytime, based on the IOW so not sure about the logistics meeting up with a Dartmouth run??

I have storage and parking for trailers here if required, 3 minutes from the slipway.

Hi all

A trip to either Alderney or the Scillies would be a great idea for a run this summer. If it goes ahead I would be very interested.

The CIs might be a bit of a push for a 60 if your making passage with bigger trawlers, 140-300hp.
What sort of speed could you comfortably cruise at with your rig?

I have just looked at the YouTube footage from last year I don't think I saw a rig under a 100. In light chop mine will cruise at 25kts flat out at 30-33kts depending on tide. If its fairly choppy a lot less probably.

IIRC there was a cluster of Ribcrafts 585's with 140's and various bigger last year. The regulars have 250's and 275's. Speak to longjohn as his rib is one of the smallest that's been across and he found it hard work even though the conditions were pretty fair. Not saying it can't be done in a 60, but it is as much to do with the size of boat as the engine. You would need really good conditions or the flexibilty to wait for a weather window if it picks up a bit before your return.

Good point, I did notice all the ribs in the video were very accomplished in that group with a high ride bow and deep V.
Maybe the others could be restricted to reverse only or give me a weeks head start!!!
