Thinking about it! I was told that last year there weren't that many boats out.

It seemed pretty busy last year - there was the usual mass of anchor lights.

A few pics from last year.

I have been out last four years and loved it! I moor off west cowes beach close inshore and am very careful leaving fon the way back for Lymington. Use all my passengers as lookout crew. No alcohol. Full set of lifejackets. All seated on seats not tubes. GPS on dim to avoid damaging night sight. 10-12knots. Beware of inexpereinced people who drag their anchor!

Have a great (and safe) time!

Well I had a great time, I do like ribbing in the dark!!!

Hope all got back ok .nice to see so many friends again; I wonder if there will be something special when Skandia give up the event.

It will be a shame if the fireworks should finish,

The fireworks very nearly didnt happen this year. the local police were throwing their toys out the pram cos they had to police so many people and were demanding that they recover the cost direct from sponsors!

that and the tender for the show was late being decided!

was a good night. show was much shorter than last year i thought but the final bit was amazing!

only saw one little problem when a cobra came past us and picked up another boats anchor line around his prop. nothing major tho.

i hope everyone else got back safe also, we left around 23:30 and there was still plenty of people around.

what did nark me a little, at 23:45 the hamble harbour master was out in the channel but the cardinal marker with no lights at all. them being out is good but with no lights on is just plain dangerous in my view!
