Am bringing mine back from N. Cornwall Sat/Sun via Scillies/Plymouth so hope to be between Start Pt and Needles between 10 and noon.

Seems silly not to take advantage of ringside seat! How about trying to hang around the gate at Berry Head (the western limit of CTC course) between 10.30 and 11.00?

Oh dear, what an unfortunate name. It's very rude Dublin slang for a lady's "bits".

It would be a howl to her calling in to an Irish CG station though, they'd be speechless for once

I think you'll find the western end of the course is the first mark down that way which is The Skerries port hand bouy at 50°16.311 N 003°33.751 W then back around into Torbay to wave to the crowd and back to Cowes - I hope I've got his correct as I'm the driver!

By the way the race starts at 10 so 10.30 would be pushing it a bit!

Just spotted own glaring error! Many thanks. What time past Skerries buoy? 11.15 ish? I guess by then the field may be a bit strung out - with you first past the mark of course!

Haven't watched from sea before. I guess there will be exclusion zones at the marks. 2 cables?

Good luck

If they start at exactly 10 it would be best to get there before 11 to be sure if it's flat, there are some close to 100mph boats going to be on the course on Sunday!

Just a word of warning. They started on of these early last year or the year before!

A law to themselves!

There are a lot of considerations to running a race like this - if it's the one I'm thinking of there was a large ship coming in early or late and the race had to change start times to suit - QHM rules! Having said that now the actual start is out of the Solent it will make things a lot easier as that is not under QHM control!

Yep - knew it wasn't the full on race. Cruised for a few mins next to one of the Fairy boats ( 333) on its way back and saw one of the goldfish ribs heading backin to Poole. Calmed alot for them on the way back I think.

Hopefully Sunday will be a safe/smooth and fast trip for all, I'll look out for you & Biff !

Good luck .
