Cowes next weekend (Powerboat Racing)?

Anyone heading across?

Info here http://www.rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5610

We'll probably tie onto a buoy somewhere while (Slim)Tim tries to get some photos...

Gotta cheer on the local team(s)!!!

Some peeps still away...

If anyone's boatless and wants a bouncy spectator seat (on Zeb) send us a PM.

Hi Js

We will be out on Sunday - launching from Poole & probably wait around the Needles for the action. Hope to see you if you are about on Sunday?

Regards

Hope to see you on Sunday.

Don't know about famous - infamous more like - whenever we turn up at Poole boat park the guys driving the fork lifts say they might as well take the rest of the day off because the weather is bound to turn bad

BTW It's not mine, I'm just talking ballast & beer provisioning officer. AshleyD is the man with the big cheque book

Anyone else coming out to play?

Regards.

We'll be there from Thursday evening untill Monday morning - if anyone wants to meet up or wants to get into the pits feel free to call me on 07836 268747 - we're staying at the Union pub just up the road and is run by Tony Hamilton (who has facilities for tying up boats I think?) who raced in Class 1 a lot of years ago with my plumber! - Long story that one!

Look forward to meeting up with the usual suspects and meeting some new faces - will have Ribnet stickers, a few burgees are left and I can bring Fleeces and Polo shirts with me if anyone wants any - call or pm or email me with your requirements!

Cookee,

That sounds fantastic. Would love to have a look around the pits when I'm there. I'll should be out with the Jackeens on the Friday taking pictures so I will try and get some of you. I don't know whether the Jackeens will be wondering the pits on the friday at all?

Do you have any suggestion as to where good places would be to sit in a rib to take pics of the racing? I want to up close action!

Cheers

Tim

Hi Tim - The chute at the start is always spectacular - then wherever the boats round a mark or Hurst point area where it kicks up a bit, or for round the Island No Mans Fort would be a good place - make sure you give the race boats enough room though there is nothing worse than spectator boats too close to the course when fighting for position!

Can't get any more passes but call me and I'll get you in if I can.

Just spoke to Kathryn (froglover) and she and Aging Youth should be out on Saturday to see the racing.

(Good on you Kevin. It must take a lot of courage to get back in the saddle after such a horrific experience.)

We will try to be there. Still got a little problem with the engine, something like oh dear the cam belt seems to have shredded and look the cogs have been damaged too. So subject to the various bits arriving and a very very nice engineer putting it all back together before the weekend we will be there.

Ahh the joy of changing boats.

Cowes On Saturday

To Paul & Kathleen,

Thanks for the call, We will be on the water with Tadpoles so keeping a close eye on the weather forecast; not looking promising at present. Is there an alternative meeting/viewing point on shore?

What are the timings or are to still be made? Give me a call on mobile when you can. Would love to catch up with you and chew the fat!

Best wishes
K & K

Ps Cookee Good Luck with the race.
