Photo on the right...

...and that's Pendragon with Aging Youth (Kevin) at the helm, Kathryn and Danielle behind and Mike (Scurvy Crew) doing photographer duty...

Just lacking the distinguished figure of Mr. Ribald (Pete T.)

Thanks for that Kathleen/Paul, I wasn't sure who they all were! I will hopefully get more pics posted up this evening. Mike and I are in the process of producing a photography site for all our work which should be online in a week or so. The address will be www.elementphoto.co.uk and it should include pictures from Saturday as well as well as lots of other interesting/arty/exciting photos!

Kathleen, I will post the pink Honda powerboat tonight!

Tim

It stood out I thought Almost as nice as my other favourite boats

It would be great to have a few race shots here if you get the chance?

It was was good to meet up with some familiar and some new faces at the weekend - disapointed not to do the Cowes Toquay race but it would have been hell in that water!

RIBase
Sat about a mile off the Ore Stone Rock scanning the horizon anxiously for white splashes which would indicate the Cowes-Torquay racers coming into view.
It was pouring with rain and a little gusty as well.
An hour later, someone rang me to say the race had been cancelled 20 mins earlier due to "2 metre waves off Portland".
So?
How bad was it really Cookee?

I was told that "Hot Lemon" (an official mark boat) a 10m cabin Scorpion was having a great deal of difficulty getting to it's mark, they tried a second start for just the P1 and Formula 1 boats just to portland and back, but they eventually cancelled that along with everything else.

I only saw the conditions around the Cowes area and it was very lumpy - we crossed on the ferry later in the afternoon and I think they made the right decision on what I saw. The organisors were in touch with coastguards along the coast as well as other safety and mark boats so they had a lot more information than the second hand information I had!

Hi Tim, It was a pleasure meeting you at the weekend.

Not so well I'm afraid - only managed 5th place - missed out on 4th by 2 seconds! The whole Formula 2 fleet was quite close together after 60 miles, and I think we now have the answer for the next race!
