Cowes Fireworks 2010

Weather should have blown through by tomorrow evening, so who else is going?

The Arrows have been given the OK to continue operations.

The Parker will be there, leaving from Lymington.

Weather was still horrible when we arrived in Poole to take the boat over to Lymington. However, we got out into Bournemouth Bay and at 30kts the Parker was sublime, even in Force 6+. She is so good in these conditions I had absolute faith in the boat, us and the trip.
However, we got a report of winds of 35kts+ in Cowes and my crew had reservations about the return trip very late at night.
So reluctantly, but wisely we called the trip off early to avoid wasted journeys to Lymington for our passengers.
Its now 8.30 and having had a quick look at some of the Cowes webcams, I think we made the right call.
The Red Arrow display tomorrow in Swanage should make up for it.

As I ran for cover with the weather and did not venture out again, was it a good show? How bad /mad was the boating?

I'd heard that the Red Arrows had cancelled their show, so if it's good enough for them to cancel, it's was good enough for me too
