Time to start booking 2005 diaries...................

Has anyone got a date for Ribraid?

Would it be an idea to combine a trip to Corryveckan with Ribraid.....possibly weekend before or after?

Any volunteers for safety officer // co ordinator?

Corryvrecken Trip

I have managed to find some "brave" people who want to go with me to Corryvrecken. I'm well up for it so if anybody has any dates in mind give me a shout.

Hi all, back again after a bit of a break.
I am definitely game for a run next year [suffering from severe RB4 withdrawal symptoms]. Done Corry in the yacht but a lot of the time its very benign and just a pretty place!
Fancy it in the new 6M rib half assembled in the garage.....
The week after Ribraid would be ideal.
Where are you Allister?

PS its Corryvreckan with a V not a W.
PPS no petrol in Craobh.
PPPs loads of petrol straight into the boat a few miles north at the Puffin Dive centre near Oban.

Another interested party here - I chickened out earlier this year, after circumnavigating Mull. There was a wicked swell, although fairly light winds by the time I approached the Western entrance. A lack of local knowledge and a big warning in the pilot "Beware - light winds but a large westerly swell can lead to a false impression of conditions within the Corryvreckan" caused me to prudently go north of Scarba. Running back down the eastern side to Crinan, a small (5m?) RIB and a yacht popped out ahead of me. Made me feel really inadequate!

Seafari operate through the Corryvreckan throughout the summer in 9m Ribcraft and I'm sure they would be willing to impart some of their local knowledge.

dates

i'm racing on a friends yacht at west highland week which finishes on the 5th!! that means i could just leave the yacht and jump in the rib so the 6th is perfect for me.

How long are we planning on staying up there??
