Got the DVD

Ok, Thanks Mike (mike Murray) I got the DVD from www.whirlpool-scotland.co.uk thank you. I watched the first 45 min and thought it was great. The rest will have to wait until I return from Vermont God Willing.

ANyone thinkingof going through this strait should get this DVD and have a look.
It is not so bad so far but I guess 25kt westerly on the flood of a spring could liven things up a bit.
Love the accent Mike, you sound a bit like Richard Burton, you are wasted, should have been on stage "dooin Shakespear" dude.

Well done tho, very professional production, its hard to capure the ferocity of the water on film. Its like taking full colour shots in the Alps, it all looks Black and White and loss of depth, a real "should have been there" However it did take much of the "Taboo" away from what I thought.

Well done lads.

Corry - Ardfern

Couple of pics of Ardfern attached. Could be an alternative launch site providing the season's started and Ardfern Yacht Centre have launched the laid up boats (no room for trailers otherwise. David Wilkie is the manager, 01852 500 247. Might be worth calling him.

It's about 8 miles to the Corry as opposed to 5 ish from Craobh, but you get to go through the Dorus Mor (The Great Door). That can be a fun place too but it doesn't have the atmosphere of the Corry. Loch Craignish is an interesting place to explore.

Good news. The Galley of Lorne (the pub) has changed hands. Now run by a young couple. Should be good again.

Pic 1 Looking south over the Yacht Centre. Crinan is just this side of the distant hills.

Pic 2 Looking down the Sound of Jura. The Dorus Mor is just this side of the distant wee island in the middle.

Tony.

Just spen 3 days in Craobh , back today, are those pics taken from the drive up to Lunga, Also I spoke to Jim Berry in Craobh Haven Marina, told him of the trip, and I also visited the Craobh boat yard which leads to their excellent slip, pics to follow, If you are Irish bassed then talk to Jim Berry at the Dublin boat show, Sail Scotland stand.Plenty of parking in Craobh and of course I had a couple of meals in Lord of the Isles excellent.

Things are looking good for me - probably as a day-trip - depending on exact date and time - still to be defined?
