To get to the entrance of the Medina for 12.15, I'm intending to LEAVE Southampton Dry Stack at 11.30 latest. This gives us 20 mins down the Itchen at 6kts then 25 mins to get across to Cowes.
We went to Yarmouth then on to the Needles today - the sea was pretty flat until we went through Hurst, so I'm expecting tomorrow's run just to Cowes to be uneventful (famous last words?).
It may be a different story for those coming from Poole and Christchurch - the trip to
lunch should be OK, but heading back across Poole bay into the wind and tide, just as the light starts to fade may be a bit more exciting...
