Excellent. Paddy Power gave me Generous Odds against ten of yiz making it to Erin's Fair Shore. So there's still a spare joker in the deck

Recce

In a bid to make life handier for you lot, we dropped a man into Dun Laoghaire over the weekend - thanks donegaldan!

This is his story:

There is ample space for the fleet. We're working on the office for some some of group arrangement. Fuel (both flavours) on the water, 24/7.

He also had a (very long) walk out the South Wall to Poolbeg Lighthouse. Clearly, careful liaison with the Port Authority will be required for the "Voyage past the Buoyage" run on the Sunday. However, I'm assured it's no biggie.

I dunno - time was we had very strict regulations regarding the importation of "impure latex products" from the UK. Back in those days the boats would have been boarded by the Legion of Mary and a tiny prick put in each Black Shadow...

...to give the "wee fellas" a daycint chance

Good stuff, really looking forward to this.

I have been looking at the chart, and I think the route is between North Kish and Bennet Bank and then south of South Burford and into Din Laoghaire.

Apart from that looks fairly straight forward in terms of routing.

Any thoughts?

That's a good tip, and a good port plan.

We should only meet the fast ferry at Kish Bank.

I think our initial course is 281 degrees, without allowing for any tidal flows.

69 nautical miles from Caernarfon to Dun Laoghaire harbour entrance at an average of 20 knots will just over three hours.

The other tricky bit by the looks of the chart is the traffic separation zone in Dublin Bay. Basically we have to cross it to get in to Dun Laoghaire, so your tip of miss the fast ferries, come definitely into play then.

On the upside I reckon from the South Burford cardinal you should be able to see the pub :0)

We have provisionally arranged for a *coughs* Escorting Vessel to see you safely in to your "accommodation". I expect they'll nail meet you at a range distance of about 5 Nm offshore.

I'd love to see one mahooosive 11m Redbay blast up to the pack at 5nm with a paint ball gun strapped on the bow spraying the black shadows in white paint.
