It'll probably be off the southside of the Llyn as it is easy for half of us to get to and the other half of us are already there. Don't know if we would get far south at that time of year, but plan to arrange something for next year where we get further south which would allow a meet up somewhere halfway down the coast.

My Idea

Ian, your memory must be fading in you latter years, it was I who posted a "New Year Cruise" thread a little while back.

I'd be up for a Bristol Channel cruise!

I have launched from Portishead a couple of times which gives quite a qood window - but you do have to watch the tides (There is a 12m tidal range)

Nice Marina in Portishead would also make a good overnight stop as there is a Travellodge (or simular) within walking distance

Still plan to make it from Portishead to Cardiff in Panther - still to be done, but last time we did a trip up the Avon into Bristol on the Saturday (to the harbour regatta) and a trip out to the bridges on the Sunday.

I can provide more details for launching etc in Portishead area (5 mins from M5) if required

Cheers
Jools

Hi

Ive been thinking about a trip in the channel. Went to Portishead marina a few weeks ago to ask for some info. Truth is that since I bought the RIB im not managing to use it as much as i would like as its in Devon and Im in Bath! So if you decide to do the Bristol Channel thing I would drag it back up the M5 and come along.

Rick

I too would love to cruise this area - the last jaunt out of Cardiff was a couple of years ago (almost) - and seemed like a nice area

Would want somewhere easy to launch, with secure trailer park etc - when this gets going let me know

OK, interest sounds good.

My boats currently out of the water having more work done on it but ill try and think up some ideas/do some local research and maybe think about organising a cruise for sometime in the New Year/January.

How does this sound?

Sounds good to me. I am away diving in the Red Sea from 11th to 18th January, other than that I should be OK

Looking to get a RIB in 2004 and would like to meet-up with some of you as a crew member and get to know the local waters.. based in North Wilts, so only 30 mins away from Bristol.

No probs, your welcome aboard my RIB if we can get a small cruise going.

Does anybody fancy aiming for the end of January?

If so, lets get organising!
