Bournemouth Air Show this weekend

I am planning on going to the air show this weekend but have not decided where to launch from.
We would normally launch from Camber as we travel from the Gatwick area - I may do the same again but potentially looking at launch sites closer to Bournemouth with full tidal access - would that be beneficial?

I was thinking Calshot possibly or Hythe but would need parking for car and 8.5m trailer. Having not been to these before any guidance above and beyond what boatlaunch can offer would be appreciated.

Thanks

I would recomend cobbs quay in poole, fuel on site, good parking etc, or perhaps baiter in poole harbour

I'm thinking of launching at Portsmouth on the Friday and staying overnight at Yarmouth. Then doing the same on Saturday night. Weather not looking as promising though with the MET forecast stating there will be high winds and some heavy showers, 30kts predicted. Is that likely to be a no goer for anyone that has been before?

We've been for the last few years, it's a great weekend, however it's unlikely we're bother this year with the current forecast, Saturday is predicted gale force and Sunday 20mph plus winds, not the end of the world but at anchor for the day in largish swells, no thanks

That's what I'm thinking. I'm hoping the forecast gets better!

Looks like thursday and sunday may be the best days weather wise.

Saturday I would forget it, with the wind strength and exclausion zones anchoring in deep water in rough weather will be a pain in the back side, especially if no anchor winch, trying to pull up an anchor, 10metres of chain and 30metres of rope from depth is a pain ive done it and that was closer inshore than the new exclausion zone.

friday forcast heavy rain, it aint looking good. If I were you I would try sunday and launch from poole, baiter or cobbs quay.
