we will also be doing a lulworth cove run on the saturday too

I'm out Thursday, Friday, later on Sat for the typhoon...tides/confidence dependant...!

Vulcan at approx 4.30 Sunday....
I'm planning to have bbq on beach going by 5.30.

Anyone's welcome...just bring some sausages etc and a bottle :-)

Did anyone else see the 2nd World War Light Bomber Buzzing about Lyme Bay at the Weekend?...not an expert but maybe a Lysander??? Propper Plane!....and lovely Sound!

Spent 14 weeks working under the flight path to Newquay airport whilst the exhibits were coming in for the Military Aircraft Museum that they have there now. Dan and I joined their Facebook page and became proper plane spotters.

By the black house , just inside run-on left. From what plotter says tide will be going up from mid afternoon.

Easy to anchor inside harbour and easy enough for me to run over and pick up.

Thanks Mark. They are always so cagey about the schedule! It will have to be the Saturday for me. I was expecting to get Friday off, but as a contractor I never turn down a day's pay!

Does anyone know where would be good to have a little look from the land? i was thinking of taking the bike out if the weather is half decent. assume they will be lining up along the coast line somewhere?

...Did'nt get any Photo's,but it was flying around the Seaton area for some time,something about Classic aircraft for sure

Had the Battle of Britain Flight with a Spitfire-Hurricane and Lancaster Fly right over the House a few years back...Tremendous Sight!....and the Sound!!

Sea is best place but from land the best place would be in the centre of the flight path which is by the Cumberland Hotel on 'East Overcliffe Drive' but that area will be busy.

Zippy,

Just head for Bournemouth Pier or the cliff top between Bournemouth and Boscombe and you should be fine. It will be busy though so leave plenty of time.

Im hoping peterm will show me where to launch from ,it doesnt look a massive run from christchurch ..will we be able to land on a beach in bournemouth ? Hoping to grab a couple of icecreams of course i ll taxi too lol

I can meet you at the slip way (they will all be busy) , and you should make the beach ....however Bournemouth can have some good breaking waves onto the beach which can ruin your boating day...

Was gonna go from Baiter as that's my usual, would you advise xchurch instead? Thought parking would be better at Baiter as I am sure it will be manic launching!

Great eve yesterday in harbour and studland bay, very choppy and some biggish waves. Got some serious air! Incredible what these little boats can do and cope with!

Not done airshow from sea before, how much rope will I need for my anchor? No depth gauge so unsure if I should take it or just float about.

I'm doing baiter most of next week(I've got an annual permit), then xch sat n Sunday for various bits.

Depth is anywhere from 5 m upwards.

I'm expecting the normal exclusion zone between piers, and usual boat semi madness.....

Oh Red Arrows arrived into Bournemouth yesterday in two fives and the BOB flight just woke me up from snoozing in the garden (they have that effect coming right over you :-) )

The depth on the side parallel to the beach can be easily 12m depth, with a strong tide you might need double that length in line
