easily done, it took me years watching BBC Wales, yes wales, even though I have English postcode and phone number I'm 0.25 mile over the border, to realize they kept saying carmarthen not caernarvon, with the twang it's easily confused and I just didn't recognize the places in caernarvon (or not) that they were filming!

In that case, your profile needs changing.

Hi Chris, that's great. I will probably take you up on the boat storage & B&B, weather permitting.
This months "Sea Angler" magazine has an article on fishing the Menai Strait + a supplement dedicated to Bass fishing, makes an interesting read.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I had a cracking bass day yesterday over hook sands just outside Poole harbour. It was blowing like bu**ery and quite an interesting sea state. I landed my personal best of 7 pounds and a trio at 3 pounds each. The 7 pounder was really interesting to play while trying to prevent the rolling waves breaking over the boat (single handed). All caught on a green and gold Rapala sliver lure. I've never had a fish that size before and my fishing crate was too small. It was a bit interesting when one of teh smaller bass fell off the hook into the boat as I was landing it(suddenly a bombard aerotech 380 seems a bit small)!! Once they stopped biting i had great fun surfing around on the waves. A sib with a decent engine certainly provides a fun in touch way of experiencing the elements! Tight lines on your trip.

How do you fish the Rapala? trolling or on a slow retrieve?

I was trolling it, it was too rough to keep the boat still. I think that the boat being thrown around a bit was probably making the lure action all the more appealing to the bass.
