Rib Raid

What a day that was, RedFox and myself ( White Rib Concorde) met all you guys from Ireland 5 miles out from Portpatrick, the first view of an armada of RIBS was truely awsome , with the fast boys first. It sends shivers down my back just thinking about it now,I cannot wait for next year, perhaps we might cross over to your side first ??. Im glad you all had a super time, wonder if any other Scottish Guys may be interested ??

Next Year

Yeah! speakin as a Scots person, i would a went if not for the trailer the rib-on- the -ferry- drive thru belfast-backto mull of galloway-back to ireland-drive thru belfast-trailer the rib on the ferry-drive home-to where i had just been later that day!

I think this went for a lot of Clyde based ribbers.

Cant we next year have a group meet and flotilla to get there from nearest point of UK to get to Bangor ?

Yours dissapointed (from the pre-planning point of view)

Why would you dream of putting yourself to that bother,
Simply launch rib from Mull Of Galoway or launch from Portpatrick, potter over at your leisure to Bangor, take the two nights free berthing on Sat and Sun, head over to Portpatrick on the Sunday and leave from their on the Sunday

Ta for those words, im a first timer tho and have seen that part of the world from the ferry on several occassions.

But my point was getting the ones on this side of the pond a bit better organised. The prospect of being out of site of land on me lonesome is a bit freaky until I get some miles (nautical) under the keel.

Anyway hope to be there next year, accompanied or not.

Cheers

I Think we will talk to Gail with a view to maybe escorting some of the smaller boats over on the Sat or Fri nite, a couple of 7.4 s could go over from Bangor and run the escort

Sounds like a very generous offer!

I hope some of us will take you up on it - you could be owed a pint or two!

Hi Chewiston, Red Fox and myself plan to go over, we have 4 and 4.5 m ribs and launch from Port Logan ( easy launching even with a 2 wheel drive car). What days we go across yet we do not know, but keep posted !
