it`s been a great year for sibbing with durdle door and portsmouth

i`m planning the bournemouth airshow and a trip to iow if whisper, peterm and co are still up for it

hoping to meet xs400 in the lakes too

this leaves the bank hol free ???? i have been wanting to see some dolphins/whales and not sure where to look . cardigan bay looks pretty good for a gauranteed sightings but not sure on the laws regarding wild cetaceans

Well there's no gaurantee, but yes there is a good chance you'll see cetaceans around Cardigan bay, more often than not they'll sneek up on you, which can be a bit shocking when a 8ft er leaps out alongside at 20knts, always best to slow down slowly then, incase there's one right behind you.
If you happen to spot them first, then it would be best to keep your distance and wait for them to come to you, there very inquisitive and usually can't help but visit, then its a totally magic moment that you'll never forget.

hey trevor ,yeh pebble bank is complete ace with a bar too.. it would be good to do it all again with the scooby gang lol not sure if i could pony a ride for the wife and daughter again but i know mike would love to take his brood too

sounds awesome dragon ficht ,where would be the best place to launch ? i was looking at new quay harbour beach (it`s only a sib ) i was wondering what a sensible trip would be for a sib not too far out take in some cetaceans out of the tourists melee nice 6 mile ish cruise(12 total ish) to a gorgeous beachor bar and back again . i`d look to camp or caravan too ..

To be honest I can't offer any advise on launch sites around that area, as I've only ever entered Cardigan bay after launching at Milford Haven then passing Ramsey Island, but you'll have far more options with a sib anyway, as for sensible cruising range looking for cetaceans, that'll totally depend on weather conditions on the day really, and Cardigan bay is quite exposed, It might be worth contacting Dan@ Razorbill ribs, I noticed he's recently complimented in this cetaceans around Wales blog,
Whales in Wales

As for camp sites, there's loads some looking over the Sea and some looking back to the Mountains, you'd luv it.

peterm and co is going to be in christchurch and bournemouth too but i`m a little concerned over how busy it will be mwahhhh and i was hoping to do a sib jolly to the folly but i`ve a feeling the wifey is treating me to pb2 on hayling island for my birthday

Hi All, Yes agree b/h traffic is a real pain, just didn't want to waste a good long w/e, as it's a long drive for me in a day. ( 4 hrs drive each way ) but guess can go some where else that w/e, so the 30th is ok but depends on tide times to make the trip possible, would be great if all the wifies and kids could go as well, lets pencil this in and check tide /weather, mike have a good safe trip to the lakes, and remember to keep fuel topped up for olly.

Mike i assume you are talking about the w/e sat 31st ?, We can't get down fri eve ( too late ) ,so would be a sat night camp for us, & go home sun,

Lulworth part 3 is the aim,

Bingo ,may go to poole on the b/hol w/e to explore the harbour, camping at red cliff farm, has it's own slipway.
