Well I went down to the horbour today to go out for a little spin with my mates as the weather was so nice only to find my boat had gone.
after searching for it for an hour thinking the harbours dept had moved it off the holding pontoon i saw it on blocks sitting in a rite state in the impound behind locked gates!
The tubes were flat the outboard all scrached it was heart breaking!
And worst of all I have to wait to speak to some guy when he's back in the office!

I guess its just a waiting game now then!

I left it on the Number 5 pontoon in the morning came back in the afternoon and it had gone very very annoying when noone will tell me whats happening or why I cant get access to it!

noone saw anything either they dident even see it being hoisted out! so I'm mistified as to whats going on!

+ The harbours dept are dragging their feet with an explanation of what happened!

Just made that very same phonecall myself, and they have also extended my cruising range at no cost. I think they keep a few available endorsements from us at the outset. A couple of years ago I asked for the 'single handed' endorsement, which they duly permitted with no extra charge. I think they asked about my boating experience and qualifications though.

Best laid plans...

Things aren't going too well for this trip so far, still got a misfire on one engine, got somebody looking at it again next wednesday but if I need a part then it's not going to happen in time. My passengers now pulled out and the winds picking up to a F6 at least for the 1st half of the week.

God wants me to do something else that weekend I feel

I agree, it's starting to look a little unlikely.

I launched last night, having had a day of calm and flat water, and within minutes of putting the boat in we were up to a strong F4, touching a 5. Made for a lumpy trip from St Helier to La Rocque, and a fight to row the dinghy ashore after.

I came back from Mont St. Michel last night and it was bloody rough from the NE Minquiers northward.

Have you had any news as to why your rib had been removed without your consent or knowledge .?

Looks like we will have to revive this thread for next year instead. I've ruled out any chance of getting over due to the poor forecast. Shame really, as I was really looking forward to my first cross channel venture under my own steam.
