Anyone planning a trip to St Kilda in 2014?

Its high up on my "to do" list and a few of the older St Kilda threads on Ribnet have whet my appetite

Wondering if anyone is planning a trip this summer and wouldn'd mind adding 1 or 2 ribs to their fleet?

Happy to go there and back in a day or stay over on St Kilda. I've no plans at this stage so start / end locations are flexible although I assume Harris or Uist will feature

We fancy heading over in our cruiser sometime during Scottish school holidays this summer maybe stay over on st kilda not a rib but we do carry one on the bathing platform if that counts?
Not sure on dates yet though but would feel happier in company if dates matched

Excellent, be great to head along with you. Did I read in an earlier post that you're on Lewis? EDIT: just saw your location is North East so I guess not (d'oh)

I'm considering August if that suits? Bank holiday weekend is 02, 03 and 04.

I just looked on the St Kilda.org web site which gives guidance for visitors & noticed that dogs are not allowed

our dog cruises everywhere with us and this visit was to be part of our usual 4 weeks afloat this summer but if the dog cant go it could be a show stopper for us

does anyone know if this is enforced ?

our plan was to head out in the morning get there for lunch do some exploring etc anchor overnight then head back the following afternoon after a bit more exploring given a suitable weather window for the two days

Id be interested to know if anyone else has been out with a dog in there crew

We are in oban this weekend & planning on heading out towards the outer Isles early next week however the forecast isn't brilliant at present but we are in the area for the next two weeks & will wait for a suitable weather window
where are you based? What kind of notice do you need it's not the kind of trip I'd like to do in anything other than perfect weather
