[QUOTE=Erin;388283] So what's the Witch's fastest lap time of the Island in your reasonably priced car?

Depends on how many times it breaks down and i have to push it!

I'd be selective on the start point in that case. Perhaps the top of Tourgis. If you can get enough speed up and make the first corner you should be able to coast the rest of the way round . What do you reckon, 3 hrs top, including running along behind picking up the trail of debris.

Floptilla Challenge

You could do a Floptilla 'Top Gear' style challenge. Car route from Braye, to Braye around the airport and to Longis etc v any Rib that wants a go.

Or on the Monday, Braye by Foot/light aircraft to St Peter Port v any takers.

I have timed it by both means and a not-that-fast-boat easily beats the time it takes to get from Braye to Alderney International (allowing the proper time before the flight for check in).

It is about 45 mins Braye to St PP by bateau (calm seas).

And about 1:15 via two airports and two taxis (no traffic).

You could even it up by starting/finishing at a point halfway between the harbours and airports. Or by abseiling out of a helo.

We have a charity thing every year along those lines, St. Helier to St. Peter Port, powerboat vs. aircraft, latter usually gets it

Why bother with check in?

Into the Red should be going into the water at the tail end of next week (we hope!), so we will be around from then onwards.

I was thinking somewhere a bit closer to home for the first run out of the season, I have been doing a lot of tinkering over the last few weeks

Will be up there soon though

Not bad at all down this way. Even though it's glassy calm out there for some reason I've elected to knock up a set of mooring lines for my berth instead. Might go for a night ex later on and probably lunch in the Ship and Crown tomorrow

Nice and clear here too, the Witch is also doing lines. Scary.

Would love to join you in the SnC tomorrow, but still boat hunting.

Pic of Fort Clonque.

Burhou ought to be visible in the background.

Up for that tomorrow if you want to return again after tonights visit. Quite jelous of you, especially being able to see you on AIS and what a great night trip it must've been in the pitch dark at 30kts. You'll have to give me a bit more than 20 mins notice next time, and I'll make sure I'm not half way through re-plumbing the house at 7pm on a Saturday

Could always do Dielette tomorrow and jump in the car somewhere.

I think the answer is to not be doing plumbing on a saturday night

That was a great trip, weather perfect and the boat didn't miss a beat. There's something about steaming along at 30kts on a pitch black night in the fog, let's you know you're alive

The only downside was the 154 litres of motion lotion @ 87ppl

Might need a different plan for tomorrow, maybe Sark but I'd have to see how long there'll be water in Creux harbour, open to suggestions anyway

Just off to take the spoils of last night's work to the dump. Text me your plan when you've got one
