Sort of, in so far as I shall be somewhere in between Jersey and Alderney for most of the day

Might see you up there then. Is the yacht club normally open on Saturdays?

Pretty certain the clubhouse is open all day (for wc and seating), but the bar normally only opens from 6-8pm. The Divers just up from the Braye Beach Hotel is pretty good or the Moorings a few doors along from that. Send me a text when you arrive and I see what I'm up to. I'll be mostly plumbing in some new rads for my parents so a bit of a working holiday this time.

Sadly Martini didn't make it due to the fog on Saturday, but we had a great trip up on Friday afternoon with near perfect conditions. Spotted a solitary dolphin on the way out of Jersey who surprisingly didn't seem interested in having a play and turned out to be rather camera shy as well . Made Alderney in good time, and decided to have a peek at the Puffins near Burhou, and then went for a mosey out to Les Casquets lighthouse, just for the hell of it.

Our return journey today wasn't quite so inspisiring and I think we were paying for Friday's bliss. A very lumpy sea with alot of spray and a mobile phone that doesn't work now, even though it was in a 'waterproof' pocket. The wind had picked up quite quickly to a F4 gusting 5, and the only positive aspect was that it was side on so that there wasn't too much slamming off the crests. Had to stick to a leisurely 20kts though to avoid being thrown around too much.

I think I had his share of beer though.

Nice photos of the 'ffins, we too saw a single dolphin (Sat) and were surprised that it did not want to play. Grumpy dolphins are unusual.

After the beer had soaked in last night we pondered the idea of a lunch time get together - perhaps in Sark? (no beer obviously on a day trip)

Damn would've enjoyed that (got a bit of a lighthouse fetish!), you'll have to take me out there next time

Sounds like a good idea to me. We normally anchor in Dixcart bay and paddle ashore.

Odd that, because we also saw one on our return today, but I didn't fancy stopping to see if it was alone, given the conditions.

If time and tide conspire, it'd be good to go again and actually get ashore and have a proper look.

You will need written permission from Trinity House, or be giving the local maintenance guy a lift to change the bulb.

The Witch suggests we partake of beer et wine and camp on Sark, it seems the thought of 30 sea miles in one day is a bit much for her.
