Sunday is now looking better our way. May see you somewhere around the harbour if we make it.

If you'd like to join us at the Braye Beach Hotel (either for a full meal or just for a drink), it would be good to see you again (especially since we can't make this year's Alderney trip). We'll be on the terrace by 1.00pm

David

We won't be leaving Jersey until about 1330, so may see you if you are still around when we arrive.

Sorry we missed you David. We arrived about 3.30 after a choppy crossing. I gather from Malthouse that you had left by then, not that it stopped us from having a beer! Hope you had a good crossing though.

You're a brave man Erin. I took my old folks around the bay this afternoon and thought it was a bit sloppy. I wouldn't have fancied going to Alderney today I must admit; good effort.

The wind went around southerly here this afternoon and the sea was lumpy enough. I'm sure that the big RC will cope admirably.

See post in Ribs and Ribbing section (posted before I read this one!).

Erin: sorry to have missed you. It must have been only by less then a quarter of an hour!

Yes: the boat coped admirably - even when we met those conditions where the sea looks reasonably flat but when you come off a wave, there is a hole behind it and the drop is much bigger than it ought to be. Very disconcerting and doubtless remunerative for chiropracters of crew that aren't bracing themselves!

Not a trip for anyone prone to back or general muscular problems (the climb to get up to the quay in Alderney was itself a feat!) nor for anyone not wearing sun cream but great fun and will certainly be repeated either solo or in company. Watch this space!

It was pretty good out of Jersey and as far as the Ecrehoes, practically doing full chat. However, the middle 15 miles or so were rather lumpy with a 'hard' short sea which I think must have been down to wind against tide and slowed us to 18 kts. The wind was also stronger further north being about F4. Towards Alderney it calmed down a bit and was much better once we'd turned the corner into Braye and we had wind in our favour.

Shame to have missed Avocet, I even rushed round to the Braye Beach as soon as we arrived, but it must have been too late.
