Not sure that I will be available due to family holiday but even if I were I think this would be a trip to far for my 5.6m rib with 80l fuel tank, cat c. Although as a group it might be possible?

Everything is possible

People with smaller boats are considering it, as are lots of people with RCD C boats.

Your experience and the hardiness of your crew, the ability to carry extra fuel, cruising speeds of all of that lot combined are factors.

As far as equipment I suggest a fixed VHF and radar reflector in addition to all the usual like lifejackets, flares, provisions etc.

If you do feel up to it, you will be made very welcome by all.

Interesting that you think the boat would be capable, I think I'd like to get a bit more experience before such a long cruise, but hopefully tag along sometime in the future, cheers

SB&R contingent

Currently 6 boats crossing on Friday. Returning Sunday.

Water based excursion on Saturday, coupled with a bit of land based wandering as appropriate.

Beer on arrival, not got beyond that in the planning but we'll fit in with whatever, if we eat separately we'll join you guys for beer ar appropriate times

Petrol

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you back to Alderney! Sadly we have not persuaded the H & S authorities in Guernsey that installing a petrol fuelling system in the harbour would be a good idea but we are getting more efficient all the time within our limitations! However, as always it would be great to have an idea of what petrol is required and we can offer you all 9p off the petrol station pump price.

If there is anything else we can help with to make your visit to Alderney easier and generally more pleasant please let us know.

That's brilliant, I'll ask the SB&R skippers for their estimates and will let you know.

An extra meter of fuel hose and a hand valve on the end
