[quote=Trevor G;399204] Hi All
Yes - I'm happy to co-ordinate the passage plans etc from the Solent end of things.
As it's quite likely that some people will just want to do the 1st weekend bit and others spend longer in the CI area, when we get nearer the time we can work out a plan to try and make sure everyone has a buddy for their intended return time and date.

As for all of these trips - it must be stressed that every skipper and boat is responsible for their own passage planning and for their boat's safety and suitability for the crossings.
Trev

The SB&R group will be returning on the Sunday en mass so if anyone is lost for a buddy they're more than welcome to join us.

I suspect the Friday will be OK as so many boats are crossing more or less at the same time it will be pretty busy

Looking at the diary, we are unable to depart on Friday the 22nd due to work commitments. We are though still considering joining the Floptilla and extended cruising itinerary to Guernsey etc. with the intention of crossing on the morning of Saturday 23rd. I/we would therefore be interested to hear from anyone else who might wish to do the same.

With June just around the corner it would be good to start and firm things up.

Obviously the weather has the final say, so bearing that in mind...

How many boats/people are planning on making the Friday crossing?

How many on the Saturday?

Do the suggested Fish and Chips / BBQ sound ok for all?

Who prefers something shore-based on the Saturday and who would like to take the boats back out?

And finally how many are planning to extend the cruise?

Erin +1. Arriving Friday. Boat excursion and/or land tour would be good. Chippy and BBQ fine. Probably not doing extended cruise.

If peeps want to quote the above in their replies and add their details we should be able to build up a definitive list.

Maybe a more ordered format would help? Maybe following a:
  • Username - Day of arrival - Saturday pref. - Food pref. - No. of people - Departure point - Extended cruise Y/N
Sort of format?
  1. Erin - Friday - Boat/Land - Chippy/BBQ - 2 - Jersey - No
  2. Gotchiguy - Thursday/Friday - Boat/land - Chippy/BBQ - 4 - Portsmouth - Yes

If people just keep quoting that and simply add[*] before their details it should work.

As alluded to above, Gotchimum and Gotchigran have decided to descend onto the island GG can't walk so GM will be hiring a car. Many have met GM and will understand how.....special...she is. Think that X1000 for her mother!!! (she's French too). They are staying in the Braye beach for two nights (flying Aurigny) and we are camping.....yay. I will persuade them to keep themselves to themselves but they may be around a little bit offering a smattering of "Stupid Boy"s etc. I would avoid them if at all possible.

Anyway, this evening we are driving down to Portsmouth and catching the overnighter to St. Malo. VM in the water inc. shakedown run tomorrow, then Wednesday up to Alderney and Friday up to Portmouth ('tho looking at the weather we may try and push that to Thursday afternoon).

Oh and of course, what is going to be the itinerary for the extended cruise......? We did Sark and Guernsey last year which was great fun and we have no problem at all returning. We never got round to doing Herm last year so maybe that would be an idea?

None of you seemed overly enamoured with them last time, but here is one of my Google maps of proposed routes for the Saturday. NOTE: NOT FOR NAVIGATIONAL PURPOSES.

I've met Mrs. Gotch. She is a lovely lady and VERY astute judge of character.
