The French will almost certainly want to stick to the French coast until the last possible minute, and only then once they have stocked up at the last port with all the necessary supplies.
Yes I realise this. Even the contemplation of doing that 800km+ trip in two days is beyond my mind, I was simply trying to give them an idea.
Yes, thats true. None of them have the officially required offshore gear, so they would have to go up parallel with Echrous then cross into British waters where the French can do sweet fa about their rules. Although some of them are Belgian flagged (quite a few) and they may come direct or via Jersey for lunch with us. Jean-Charles has got some mates contemplating coming too, so there may be quite a few of us departing St. Malo.

Yep. They've done 720km in a day before on a normal cruise.
I don't know if it will be the same ones. Currently looks as it it'll mostly be Lynxs so the potential is there
