As I was telling Gotchi the other day, we had a bunch of Dutch/Belgian Osprey owners down to Jersey 15 or so years ago. They're pretty hardcore when it comes to long distance cruising so I don't doubt they'll make it down to us. I wonder if I'll meet any of the last lot again, good guys

Yes I realise this. Even the contemplation of doing that 800km+ trip in two days is beyond my mind, I was simply trying to give them an idea.

Yes, thats true. None of them have the officially required offshore gear, so they would have to go up parallel with Echrous then cross into British waters where the French can do sweet fa about their rules. Although some of them are Belgian flagged (quite a few) and they may come direct or via Jersey for lunch with us. Jean-Charles has got some mates contemplating coming too, so there may be quite a few of us departing St. Malo.

Yep. They've done 720km in a day before on a normal cruise. I don't know if it will be the same ones. Currently looks as it it'll mostly be Lynxs so the potential is there

The last time "quite a few" Frenchmen went to the Ecrehou a Jersey copper had to handcuff himself to the flag pole, I had best fore warn the local constables!

They normally behave themselves when I'm around
When I go to Chausey they all seem to come out on deck and stand to attention

The only reason Chausey is french is because Jersey couldn't be bothered to look after it

Keep an eye on the thread though, as the event draws nearer we will ask for a head and hull count.

I'm sure there's an English version. I'll have a look for it. I think thats the vid where the rozzers rock up in a load of SR4s (Probably the one now tied to the Jetty on Alderney)
