Yep, we went straight into the harbour and tied up to the short stay buoy. Call water taxi on 37 / M1 or phone the mainbrace chandlery.

Fill out form in harbour masters office with your passport number.

Get taxi to campsite.

The storm hit last night and Pauls tent broke about 5am. Being a great mate and in true Ribnet style, I slept through the whole thing

Made Bacon rolls in the field kitchen on the campsite and then got the bus into to town and we are currently in the Georgian House...

The weather should clear in the next 24 hours. Going to get supplies and fish and chips later on.

A pic of the wet campsite...

OK - I think this is my final decision... whilst my heart says go Thursday to Cherbourg, my head (and the fact I'll have Pam and Katie with me) says play safe and leave on Friday directly from the Solent to Alderney.
Wavefinder predicts that the wave height at the Channel Lightship will have dropped from 2.1m on Thursday mid morning to 1.2m the same time on Friday.

So - our plan is to leave Southampton Drystack at about 10.15 on Friday morning, be around Yarmouth at about 11am, and head straight across to Alderney.

If anyone else is going Friday and wants to meet up at Southampton, Yarmouth, or off the Needles please let me know.

We'll be on VHF Ch77, or text or call on 07840 975807.

(We'll be camping on Alderney so when we get there we will get a taxi from Braye Harbour to the campsite)

Trev

Just stopped raining here in Barfleur. Looking good for the weekend. We should be launching about 10.00 on Saturday, which should see us in Alderney around lunchtime. Do we need to book the campsite or can we just roll up?

If you have your own tent you can just turn up. I'm checking to see if there are any pre erected tents available.
