Once kitten finishes with that plug, you can have a big bonfire and there'll be plenty of room in the workshop.

Whilst i am aware its 60nm odd off of The Needles, anybody got an idea on a realistic passage time from the Needles to Braye based on previous experience and likely conditions ?

In a 7m boat and sub F5 conditions I would be disappointed with anything more than about 2 hours 30.

Last year speeds were restricted by fog, but even so the crossing time was not bad.

The links to Alderney point you in the right direction for accommodation, Martin can also give you details of places to stay.

Fuel wise we were fine last year although beaware of the containers used better to bring your own, as had a couple of boats come up with alarms regarding water in fuel.

Is Avocet and Mustard coming again ?

If we could start to make a list so we have a rough idea on numbers

Mainbrayce will be more than happy to help will fuel again this year and have some new bigger containers etc to try to make the whole thing a little easier. If you can keep us posted as to requirements, timings etc that would be great. I will also check with the Harbour that no other races, flotillas etc are due in that w/e that might make moorings an issue.

We are concerned about your comments regarding water in your fuel. We only ever use the same containers for petrol and generally they are filled on a daily basis with them always being checked for any signs of contamination. As far as I can recall when you all visited last year we either filled your own containers or ours were being filled and then immediately emptied into your boats. We sold over 15,000 litres of petrol in a similar manner last year and this is the first comments we have received of this nature. We also treat our diesel with similar care and attention and again have had no negative comments. We have invested in some new cans for this season which are not only larger but also have nozzles and we have bigger syphons for transferring from cans so hopefully the whole process will be a little more efficient.

Although petrol prices have risen substantially over the last few months - the pump price here is now 122.5p a litre we generally offer 7p a litre of this. If you can keep us posted as to your requirements I'm sure we can arrange a RIBnet price for not only petrol but also oil and any VAT free chandlery.

We look forward to seeing you all again and I will double check with the harbour that no other flotillas, races etc are due here that w/e.

Very sorry but 24th is the start of a booked two week holiday for us in France. Would very much like to do the trip again (if only to repay Something Italian for sharing their celebratory bottle of wine with us!). Would be very interested if the dates change and am also working on a possible trip to France in August/September following last year's cancelled trip to St Vaast.
