Advise on Solent Day Trips

Hi

Just done my first trip at the weekend with the family on board. Down the Itchen and out to the Needles with a lunch stop at Yarmouth before returning. Everyone loved it. Probably helped that the weather was great.

Anyway, looking for advise on any other potential day trips that might be suitable in the area.

Currently chartering RIBs from Solent Boat Charters to get experience and work out what I want to buy.

Any advise would be much appreciated

thanks, Justin

Newtown creek is a good spot, particularly if the seals are about

I think I may have seen you over the weekend . Black and yellow tube on a Solent Rib Charters Ribcraft

Head for Portsmouth to see the QE2 aircraft carrier and then take a short stay at Gunwhalf Quays Marina. Lot's of places to eat and the family will enjoy the shopping opportunities

We were there on Sunday

Welcome to the forum.

If you go to Free charts, tide tables and pilotage : from Visit My Harbour and select the Solent region there are quite a few places to choose from. plus info on what is there.

If you fancy a sedate potter, head up the Beaulieu river, keep an eye on the channel though as does meander.
