Oh, heck, after that build up, I had better roll out the excuses
This is my first utoob video
This is my first edited video from the GoPro
It is practically my first video ......
So I went for the stick it on the 'A' frame and see what we get approach
Must say that I have learnt a bit from this, but 1.5 hours to upload to utoob
For the technically minded it was shot in 1080p, at 25 fps (PAL) at the narrow field of view, 90 deg (I hate the fish eye effect).

Well done Ian, that was excellent! That camera is awesome and you have done a fine job in editing the footage

No problems - must admit I was surprised you made it with enough water - I envisaged you stuck on a mud bank for a couple of hours - but glad you made it.
Speeding in Poole Harbour??? maybe a little just outside

Probably as you uploaded in 1080 which is HD and I reckon it was well worth the wait as it looks great.

We watched it earlier at my parents on a big LCD TV and everyone thought it was a great video, even my sister said she wants a boat now

And they all said I should upgrade my camera, which I will do now that I have seen yours

Ian, great vid
I reckon the a-frame mounting is ideal, why the eye rolling? Did you think it was a poor result?
I would have thought the a-frame mounting will give much less movement than further forward or handheld.
The vid shows just how calm we had it

Hi Neil, I did not see you at the Wheatsheaf, apologies if I blanked you.
I did not spot your RIB either which is a shame, I would have liked a look see!
The eye rolling was about my lack of thought as to the content, the vid would have benefited from some scene setting shots, such as a pan around the pub, much as Alex does. However, the GoPro is not easily used as a hand held, but there again few so called action cameras are any good in this mode (apparently!).
Yes the 'A' frame mounting seems very good, but I would like to experiment with some less well used locations

Hi Ian
With the software you use to put together the video, is it able to splice together video and/or photos from different sources? I was wondering if you could leave the GoPro on the boat and use shots from a HD video on your phone or photos from a normal camera for the scene setting shots?
Trevor
