Yep good news, but goes against what marine police told us that the thieves were from Eastern Europe. These were local and had taken many expensive boats and kit. I bet someone on here suffered at their hands

Most of this stuff either gets broken down for their component parts which are easier to move on and/or gets stolen to order and shipped abroad.
I'm sure the punishment won't fit the crime.

I wonder if was the same pair I had heard about being arrested at Ichen Marine about a month ago (was told they were Polish too). The police think my engines ended up in Poland.

A load of copper information cable theft from under bridges in London was recently blamed on Poles. Not the telegraph ones

Interesting that it was Waterlooville CID that caught the tossers as it's probably the only place round here that has no form of marine related industry.
I'd like to know if the recent changes to the 'use of reasonable force' can be extended to protect our RIBs.

Yes, it's perfectly reasonable to tie a rope around their feet before beating them with a big stick & then drag them behind the rib/car for a couple of miles before cutting the rope and leaving them to find their own way home.

These thieving scumbags nicked my 3 year old Mariner 100 last week. They spent 3 hours in the yard un bolting it from the boat, there was even a locking bolt on it which is still there so I recon they damaged the saddle bracket to get it of. They put cushions from another boat behind mine and doused them in petrol, our guess is that if they got disturbed they were going to torch the place, f#####g scumbags
