Stolen - Suzuki DT75 Outboard

From Crowthorne overnight on 2nd / 3rd July 2013.
Suzuki DT75 Outboard with control cables and battery cables.
Not bad condition, and runs well but shouldn't be that desirable as it was made around 1990.

Serial Number 07501-011762

There aren't many of these still going so if it turns up on any of the "normal" sites for sale as a runner or for parts, please call Thames Valley Police quoting crime number EG 4282 111-13 and pm me if possible.

Thanks

Trevor

Hmm - It's not clear at the moment. Normally the answer would be yes if the engine had been on the boat at the time (and had a transom lock on it) - but as I've just fitted a different engine to the Searider the Suzuki was not on the transom at the time, so wasn't locked on.

The engine was on a stand (by our garage, out of the way and not visible from any public roads) and I didn't have anything "not movable" to lock it to (the engine is the biggest, heaviest non moveable thing we had!).

Guess who's out buying a CCTV system this weekend.....

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but it was kind of a sitting duck sounds like opportunist, or local knowledge rather than the usual gangs. Get checking eBay, free ads etc. It will be sold on for sure, one way or the other.

If the insurance refuse a payment perhaps it would be covered by a household policy ?

Don't bother with the smokescreens sunshine, your name is well in the frame.

Where exactly were you on the eve of the 3rd?

Trev, were there any sightings in your area of a large bloke in a Scarletts match shirt, very tight rugby shorts and blue jesus sandals? If seen, no one would forget him.

Dude, so sorry to hear this

I have a lot of great memories of the engine and I was really chuffed that you fixed the gearbox yourself.

It's a rare outboard these days, I'm going to set up a search on ebay, did they get the controls?

Yup - the controls were still attached but not the gauges - they had rusted to bits when I took them out.

Funnily enough, Pam (Mrs G) isn't that upset that it's gone.... DHD - did a chinese woman phone you up recently saying she had a DT75 cluttering up the garage .... ???

Possibly, but the lad got a bit confused and asked for special fried rice with it.

Yes, but I only wanted the powerhead and she wouldn't split it.

Gone to Lithuania now, I fear.

SR4.7 was overpowered with that little beauty on there, anyway. What's it been replaced with?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but 15 words have just painted a picture I really didn't want in my head...

It's now got a Mercury 60 EFi on it (with Outboard bolt locks fitted) - we're using it to hopefully do the Round Ireland 2013 in a few weeks time - which is why I took the DT 75 off it.
