Nice pics,

In my younger days I used to fish from the pier beside the south lighthouse in your photos.

I would imagine that around Dalkey Island would be a good spot - quite a tidal rib through there if I remember .

Whats the square things on top, either side and back of the A frame.
Micky Mouse ears !!!!!

Dalkey Sound

Dalkey leaves you needing physio as it is usually like brick walls coming towards you and they arnt so easy to jump over, the Mickey Mouse ears are 3 spot lights for night time, two work lights and 1 engine light , if the need arises cheers Gavin

So it was you two ! When I was having a beer with the harbourmaster he was giving out that some young hooligans were trespassing on his ligthouse...lol. Went out to the Kish lighthouse recently. Very tempted to climb up the ladder on to the deck but my wife objected. (What if you fall etc etc) On closer inspection she may have been right, I have never seen so much bird sh*t in one place. The smell was overpowering.

Gavin, Tim.....how are you guys finding it now with the new jockey seats. Better than the standard Hysucat bench-seat or not?

Seats

Yeah seats are working very well, we were right to pack the seat tops with dense foam, its about 6 inch high. The only problem we had was with the side hatches, Plastemio the centre pins both failed, we made stainless replacements. The seats are well strudy and you can grip them with your legs quite well, we are still debating about backrests though, we have a lot of hand holds on the consul, stainless wheel etc not sure if we need backrests yet.We definately feel the benifit of shifting the weight foreward and our pod seats are the only way foreward, pity we dont have a soft nose , for pulling alongside etc, but I reckon anyone could build a diy seat cheers gavin

Kish

Be careful landing at the Kish, there can be 3 - 4 metre swells there, I have done it about three times, ground off metal bolts can appear as the swell lifts and falls, nose into the most sheltered ladder and quickly get up the ladder, let the rib drift off the lighthouse with a long rope. Its only possible to get up to the level of the crane as it is gated off above this and up to the helipad, good views but it is tricky landing only attempt it from the leeward or sheltered side, it is full of bird crap, how are the repaired tubes by the way cheers gavin

Gavin,
My tubes are still with the Zodiac repair man. But as i have his tubes and mine are not getting any wear then I dont mind the delay. I just need to push him more. Zodiac are covering the job under warranty.

Cheers,

Luke.
