Tx folks for the pics they were great!! The pub, grub and chat looked good. I was as Willk said I was interested in action photos out at sea to see the rib in action, it certainly looked like a great day in what looks like an awesome rib. Looking forward to the vid Andre.

Thanks very much Andre for your kind invitation aboard Solent Blast Yesterday. Ryan and I realy had a fun time and enjoyed every second of the trip.

As mentioned before on this thread it was nice to put a few names to faces for all the good it does me, as I'm terrible at remembering names and even managing to call Dave (Avocet), John

I'm still constantly amazed how quiet the Verado is and thought that at least two of them should be noiser than one....Wrong! I guess that like most that own a RIB, some roar of the engine should be expected at speed. Even above the noise of the wind rushing past ones ears! These are very impressive engines however with a very smooth power output and propelled the Parker at 44 knotts, 14 up with what I beleived were full tanks. I would guess that the overall weight of the 900 was well in excess of 3 Tonnes (Andre please correct me if I'm wrong). So in my books gets a BIG tick.

One moment of the trip I will remember is when we were returning from Cowes to Southampton and Andre found the wake of a large container vessel coming into Port. As we hopped, skipped and jumped over one of the series of wakes given off by this Giant, the bow caught the top of one of the waves causing a massive not so fine spray to cascade over the heads of us crew. Jism and Jean where sat in front and took the full force. Jism looked back toward me with water droplets and streams coming from his face....A Kodak moment that will remain in my mind for along time. Thanks Ben!

So all in all a Fantasic get together. Thanks Andre

Have now managed to get together the video evidence and post on youtube.

Appologises in advance, made two fundimental errors!

1. Forgot to put a sachet of silica gel in the waterproof case, hence the gradual build up of condensation on lense as the sun warmed the housing

2. After leaving Cowes and before the container ship the camera got knocked sky wards and therefore wonderful shoots of overcast sky, but little else, doh

Sorry guys, Andre can we do it again then .........

Did not want to spoil your fun and how do tell a guy bigger than you to sit down!!

Actually thought the hieght ofthe windscreen surround would clear the tops of most peoples heads, but then I guess your not most people

Hi everybody.

Many thanks for all your responses. I am pleased you all had a great day out. We were lucky with the weather but sadly no action shots as unfortunately Tim M was not at Gunwhalf when we turned up. I was hoping to have some shots taken from his rib. We will have to do this again

The weight was closer to 4000kg with 14 persons, full fuel ie 440 ltr, two liferafts (120kg) and we managed to vent the props
a pity the seas were flat cos we could have done some low flying but there is always another time

the rib is about 2800kg then add the 440 ltrs of fuel, then 14 persons say average weight 75kg = 1050kg, add 140kg for liferafts = total about 4400kg

total fuel used was 160 ltr
