Another tip for skippers is that I have found that generous use of the Cat O'Nine Tails tends to cause a more steady and accurate course to be steered.

Strange that isn't it?

I also believe in reserving the use of the tawse and keel-hauling for lesser crimes, such as being slow in saluting me as I am piped aboard, a reluctance to lick the salt off the superstructure at the end of a days cruising etc.

Please let me know if you think I am spoiling those beneath me too much wont you?

Brian as Captain Birdseye? Does Capn Birdseye usually have a malboro light dangling out the corner of his mouth? He does have the salty seadog beard though. And if I were him I'd be instructing lawyers about the Matthew Kelly bit
