Had a good look over these at the LBS. On surface seemed to be solidly made and reasonably well thought out.

However when talking to the guy on the stand doubts started to creep in.

Q. Whats the max engine this boat is plated for ?
Answer was along the lines , We build each boat individually and so can make it strong enough to fit any engine we feel the customer can handle.

This certainly was not the answer I was expecting.
The answers to some of my other questions also (for me) got some unusuall replies.

Having said that the they were happy to arrange a trial run in any boat if I so desired.

The Blue boat had a wide beam and medium V hull the larger white boat adjacent looked nicer and had a deeper v hull.

Made to order in Devon/Cornwall I believe

Manos,

I got the same answers to those questions also.

I spoke to him for about 40 minutes & was left with the impression that these ribs are NOT for Speed Merchants!"!

The engines that they fit do the job required & the hull design is set up more for gettting up on the plane than outright top speed.

The design loked very, very good & the space on the 5.75m rib (Blue one) was amazing.
Very impressed, & if I'm in the area will take him up on his offer of a ride!

Pete

Sorry I meant the white rib (5.75m)!

I believe the Blue Rib is 4.8m with an offset control panel with the fuel tank placed inside it (the front cover lifts up) although they will also fit underfloor tanks (but cost a lot)!! on this model.

where to get mod boats

Manos
Ref your Q on mod boats, were are after one in the near future, and most that come up on sites are not worth it. Anyway most of the mod boats go to Babcock Disposals(babcockdisposals.co.uk).
But be warned you have to be quick as stuff dont stay there long.Maybe a phone call to them asking to be contacted if they come up, you never know.
They arent for auction but for sale. you will be supprised what they sell off, sea riders, raiders, pacs and other boats.
good luck, if you get ant other inputs where they can be found let us know.cheers

Pacific 22

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=2453199924

There are a number of Pacifics on the net at the moment ranging from 10k (Seb) to someone asking £20k and who needs to wake up and smell the coffee!

The above hull is on e bay and they have a stern dirve and 180 engine to boot so there is a project for someone.

Rumour has it the Harry Pounds in Portsmouth has a couple but its entry by invite only. AY might be able to help.

There are some hulls in the dockyard that might be coming up for sale in the future but I dno't know when, yet.

Finally Phil Smith has one with a jet drive in Northampton. Contact him via Rogue Wave.

Pete

However for Manos I could offer a consultancy for finding the right boat
