Just found these 2 whilst browsing, they do sound fantastic and the acceleration is unbelievable.

The latter isn't a rib but there are 4 verados hangin off the back.

Verado is very good but how much gasoline does it need? 100 litres per hour?
I have some doubt my leaving fuel station.

Yep they do fantastic and I can assure the acceleration is just as breathtaking. Fuel economy is only 100 litres per hour at WOT, cruising at 36 knots they are burning 1litre per mile per engine so personally don't feel that is much more than the average, drop your speed to 30 knots and I get 1.2m per litre so very respectable.

I have a little question. Why do you apply powerful engines if you are to cruise only at 30 knots? I used to employ engines for full power. And I believe if I multiply by two engine's power, my boat speed doesn't multiply by two.

Because cruising at 30/36 knots the engines are not anywhere near strained, fuel economy is good, plus you also have the huge grin factor of blasting off to 54/55 knots, fully laidened with passengers & fuel if you wish without any effort. Also I am never short of enough power, if caught out in rough weather.

The Baltic I have with the 2 x 275 Verado's feels very solid, and planted in the water, we had 54 knots on the trip back from Cowes, 8 adults, 3/4 tank of fuel and not once did the rib feel unbalanced, no wobble at all, and that was without adjusting the trim to get more speed.

It's said that Evinrude have less petrol consumption than Verado due to E-Tec techology. Why did you choose the Verado?

I was with a mate on his rib recently and where I was returning 1.3miles per litre at 12 knots he was returning 1.6 litres per mile on a 200 Etec. I chose Verado's because of the Speed, Look very sexy indeed, quiet and because that is what I wanted.

I have to get a bigger RIB. I think twin 275 would putt my transum several feet under.

I imagine if you place five or six verado's on your boat you can flying over sea!!!

I want to compare with Yamaha 300 hpdi. I think that 300hp > 275hp.

We put one on last years demonstrator and a 250 Verado ran at over 60mph happily with a novice driving it! We managed 65 trimmed out and you could talk to the people in the back seats it was so quiet!

How would that compare to a Yam or Evinrude of the same size?

To be honest we haven't fitted either to one of ours yet - although I would expect similar performance given similar weights although they would probably be a bit louder?

Maybe someone who has fitted all of the above to the same hull would be better off commenting?
