well.....

decided we are struggling to get the use out of the boat due to ...

good weather at a weekend/calm seas/sunshine/low wind/we are free

getting all these to come together is tough, and the mrs enjoys less favorable weather when we have no kids, it can be quite rough and is fine. But we always worry about the 5&7 yr olds so tend to have to wait for the right conditions when they are with us and that is most of the time.

so the plan is to put the boat keys down for 3-4 years for them to grow a bit bigger and then if the bug is biting again we will get another. We also have the very kind offer of use of a rib when we want to so that will hopefully fulfill the urges when they come along!!

we do have the 3.4m sib to play with when down cornwall way so all is not lost.

The mrs is keen on upgrading the motorhome to a slightly larger one with a bigger bathroom! so we will probably go that route in due course as we get a lot of use out of the mh.

If/when we decide to get back to a rib we will certainly have osprey vipermax as the first choice (depending on if chris or roy can cut us a fantastic deal after all the publicity generated!) or a scorp as a close second.

I find the SIB can be just as much fun as a RIB - just in different ways.

You have evenm got me drooling over ospreys - what's their website again?

just a whole lot of new kit to be added, ie uprating the equipment i had originally fitted with new sexier stuff....ie the 42 inch plasma tv garmin kit!

i was blown away with the quality and spec of the new Garmin unit with the latest mapping software. They are expensive but sitting there with a lovely big screen map is just so good. Plus a load of other items to personalise it for the new owner.

He sounds like a man after your own heart. Where did you find him? The George Michael Appreciation Society?

Sad day eh Chris?

I hope the new owner is tall enough to see over the new Garmin!

Or does it have a forward facing Camera?

yes a forward facing camera and we also installed steps to stand on

it looks tall but when you sit there or are standing it is perfect, to me having the gps there is probably the ultimate place for ease of use and reading. If i had had the cash i would have put one of those on myself...mega bit of kit.

Must admit a larger screen is easier to see on the move, and gives the option of splitting the large screen in half to display GPS and FF trace together, but still in reasonable size formats.

A few took the P155 when I fitted my C120, but do I care?

Nasher.

How can that be? It's bang in the way. It's obscuring vision without doubt, is the guy intending to stand at the helm full time on a two hour cruise? Or, are crab pots and floating obstacles not an issue?

yes i agree, those c120's are very nice indeed. I remember seeking Milo at the pychelly cruise in 06 and he had a huge plotter, looked the biz for sure

Don't go saying things like that after I've just plowed every last penny in to my new RIB

...and there was me thinking this was a 'RIB' forum
