yes its a two stroke unit

i came so close to getting this years orange DR4.90 new but the boat and trailer end up at 5k which left me heading for a 70 hp second hand 1996 engine
to keep in my buget

but the 4.5m came up needs a bit of work cleaning and storting
but should be ok after that

Hope you have fun with the new boat

Ads... he didn't stand a chance, the superiority and power ratio of the Yamaha left him gob smacked we ran a speed comparision on very flat conditions (as my GPS works ) and at about 28 knots i started to pull away from Dan until he was just a speck in the distance

Thanks guys for a great run out, being a Bradwell virgin his Lordship Lord Davies of Chelmsford took me over to have a look at Rat island whilst Dan and Rich L tried to work out why the new Valiant wouldn't turn corners correctly, the weather was supperb if not a little cold and i managed to get myself back into the safety of the south without incident.

One more pic of Dan's new baby.

Great having Bethany on board. Gave me an excuse to do all those silly turns.... Maybe nextime I should bring my own 7 year old daughter!

Great to meet Bilge & Peter for the first time.

Dan welcome to the world of second hand boats your'll find bits start to constantly fall off and go wrong from now and when they do know one wants to know you.

Anyway you should think yourself lucky esacping with a £20 anode, i need to now replace my prop after following you across some mud bank, Lord D told me you knew where you were going

that makes second hand a better bet than new as bits fell off my new one
and second hand cost less than new

Dan, I like the seating configuration.

As you know I wanted to do the same thing; a jockey at the front and a bench at the back. Well, I'm half way through my little project now - I've moved the console nearer the front. Currently saving for the new bench seat (£550!!!).

I'll be interested to see how well she performs with a couple of people on that bench seat (my worry was I wouldn’t be able to get on the plane)

Tim

It did make a lot of difference to the way the boat handled taking off at high revs and the handling (before you lost the anode ) so just moving the weight forward makes all the difference and of course that bench seat at the back makes it idea for his lordship and myself to sit whilst eating our lunch
